Bond

2026 · Oil on canvas · 150 × 130 cm · Invisible Imprisonments · Available

The painting speaks of a bond between two people. Just two — beyond the judgements, expectations and interference of others. Everything extraneous has been removed, and a fragile line connects the two figures. It may look easily broken, yet it carries a bond that endures across time, absence and death. The work depicts the artist’s soul alongside that of her great-grandmother. This is more than a memory: it is a living relationship between wildness and ancient wisdom, movement and stillness. Fire and wind have swept away everything extraneous: roles, judgements, tensions between generations and collective expectations. The bond between two people remains. It needs care, but not the approval of others. Invisible structures can imprison a person, yet an invisible connection can also sustain them.
